review: Too Faced Lash Injection mascara

I’ve been having bad luck with mascaras lately. They make my eyes itch. They goop and get spiderleggy. They never dry and they smack black eyelash-sized lines on my upper lids if I look upwards too hard. In short, I’ve been wearing random drugstore clear mascara for about six months, in dispair.
Hurray for Lash Injection by Too Faced! This stuff actually rocks.
First off, the wand is big, so it actually curls my lashes up pretty nicely. It doesn’t goop. I can apply several layers and not have to worry about big clumps forming. It doesn’t make my eyes burn.
And let me say, this stuff stays on. It would take an atomic blast to knock it off your face. I can rub my eyes.. doesn’t come off. I can have an allergy-induced sneezing fit with watery eyes.. doesn’t come off. I have been taking it off with an eye makeup remover, because face wash and water really don’t get it all. And to me, all of this is a good thing, because I absolutely cannot stand it when my mascara either smudges or rubs or flakes off of me in the middle of the day. It’s highly irritating.
The only downsides: one, the smell. When you first open the tube, you get a whiff of a weird plasticy odor. Not terrible, and it doesn’t stay with you, unlike, say, Laura Geller mascaras that all reek like beer and make you have beereyes.
Two, the company boasts that Lash Injection won’t flake or smudge (it doesn’t, true), and that it comes off “in little tubes, like tiny lash socks!” Uhh.. no. Not on me. It doesn’t come off, period. But I like that it doesn’t come off, but I was also sort of looking forward to the lash socks. Oh well.
